Ballroom

Ballroom

Ballroom is a participatory work that recreates the atmosphere of a ballroom in urban and/or theatre settings. The performance comes to life in a rectangle of chairs and a nod to the world of milongas and Ettore Scola’s famous film Le Bal.

Audience members are invited to take part and live the action from the inside, sitting together with the performers and pairing off, as ‘the other’ continuously changes with no gender distinction. The tradition of ballroom dancing is intertwined with contemporary elements and reference to speed dating events.
