Sandra Mifsud
YOGA
Sandra’s Iżfen ma’ ŻfinMalta classes integrate yoga and dance into a single, continuous movement practice. Each session begins with a gentle warm-up to increase mobility, activate the joints, and bring attention to breath and alignment. This is followed by selected Hatha yoga poses, which are approached as functional movement material rather than fixed postures. Participants are guided to explore how each asana can transition into the next, using breath, weight shift, and momentum to develop fluidity. These transitions form the basis of short dance phrases, allowing yoga principles—such as grounding, stability, range of motion, and breath awareness—to directly inform the quality and structure of the dance. As the class progresses, movement gradually slows and returns to the floor. The final section focuses on Yin yoga poses (held postures) to release connective tissue and support recovery, concluding with Savasana to consolidate the physical and sensory experience.
With a career spanning several years in the field of dance, Sandra’s journey into the world of yoga, began as a sporadic exploration. Over several years she tried different yoga techniques with different teachers, but it was when she stumbled upon Yin Yoga that her path truly deepened. Certified as a yoga teacher. Sandra’s teaching style reflects her experience in dance and movement and passion for yoga. She believes that these practices hold the key to find balance in our fast-paced lives.
