This summer ŻfinMalta welcomes young aspiring dancers on a journey into the world of professional dance as the Iżfen series introduces its first Intensive! Iżfen ma’ ŻfinMalta’s Summer Intensive is especially dedicated to children and young people between 9 – 17 years old. Immerse yourself in ŻfinMalta’s diverse repertoire while discovering the artistry within. From mastering choreography to unleashing your creativity as a choreographer, experience a day in the life of a professional dancer. Join us for an unforgettable summer intensive of movement, expression, and endless possibilities on the dance floor.
Led by ŻfinMalta company dancers Amber Van Veen and Pearl Calleja, these classes are designed for children and young people to experience ŻfinMalta’s repertoire as well as explore creative movement sessions. Pearl & Amber will guide you through an experience of company life.

Participants attending classes must fill out ŻfinMalta’s participation form in advance of attendance: Only one form needs to be filled out per participant, for the season. Please check out our class policy prior to attending classes and for further details.

Meet Pearl Calleja
Pearl Calleja was born in Malta in 2002. She started dance at the age of five and has since trained in classical ballet, contemporary, and Spanish dance and graduated from Seed Dance Studios in 2019. She furthered her studies in contemporary at Dance Arts Faculty in Rome. Pearl was also nominated for the Young Artist of the Year Award in the 2022 edition of Premju ghall-Arti. She joined ŻfinMalta as an apprentice in 2020 and as a company dancer in 2021.

Meet Amber Van Veen
Meet Amber van Veen, a 24-year-old dancer born in Amsterdam. Her dance journey started at the Dutch National Ballet Academy and culminated at Royal Ballet School of Antwerp. After a year of training with Ballet Flanders she found her place in Malta with ŻfinMalta, where she is happily dancing for almost 5 years. In these years she experienced & learned a lot about choreography making and is happy to pass her knowledge to young movers in the Iżfen classes.
