This Winter, ŻfinMalta is offering the opportunity for students of dance to connect with their National Dance Company, within the dance schools that nurture them: Experience ZfinMalta’s repertoire before it goes on stage, through ŻfinMalta’s Workshop open call, and choose between four distinct pieces of repertoire 

XitwaŻfin | Winter Dance Repertoire Workshops

17th-22nd November & 1st-4th December 2025

Dive into the choreographic world of Helge Letonja, Artistic Director of Of Curious Nature, ahead of the premiere of his work ‘White Echo,’ performed by ŻfinMalta as part of XitwaŻfin this December:

ŻfinMalta company dancers will lead ‘White Echo’ repertoire workshops in selected schools. ŻfinMalta is launching an open call for both dance schools and secondary/tertiary education institutions to apply for the opportunity of hosting one of these workshops from their own studios. Workshops are of a maximum length of two hours, and the age of participating groups is 12+.

Participants in workshops benefit from a €10 ticket (excluding booking fees) to a performance of XitwaŻfin.

6th10th & 12th-16th January 2026

In 2026, ŻfinMalta’s annual programme ŻfinDays returns, showcasing the company’s breadth of work with the distinct visions of three European choreographers making their mark in the international dance scene. ŻfinMalta is launching an open call for for both dance schools and secondary/tertiary education institutions to apply for the opportunity of hosting one of these workshops from their own studios. 

 

Choose between three works, and apply for the opportunity of hosting one of these workshops from their own studios. Workshops are of a maximum length of two hours, and the age of participating groups is 12+.

How to apply

Dance schools are to apply for the opportunity of hosting one of these workshops at their school by the 9th November 2025.

ŻfinDays Workshops (Nácar, BORDER, Mortal Heroes)

6th-10th & 12th-16th January 2026

 

Workshops are of a maximum length of two hours and the age of participating groups is 12+.  

Teachers can apply via email to project@zfinmalta.mt. Applications should include:

 

  • School name, address and a brief description of the class/students   
  • Teacher’s name and brief biography  
  • Name of preferred repertoire (White Echo, Nácar, BORDER, Mortal Heroes)
  • Proposed date, time and duration of the workshop
  • Age bracket of students
  • Expected number of participants  
  • A brief message on behalf of the students explaining why they are keen to be part of this  

 

Word Limit 500 words.  

 

You may propose multiple dates and times.  

 

Deadline for application: 9th November 2025  

 

 

If you wish to record your message, apply with a private video link with a maximum length of 2 minutes.  

 

Attachments should not exceed 20mb.  

 

 

 

Timeframe and Selection Process

Selected schools will be contacted by the 12th November to tailor sessions further and ŻfinMalta will make every effort to accommodate the preferred dates and proposed length, however this may not always be possible, and workshops and leading dancers are subject to availability. ŻfinMalta will assign two company dancers per workshop.
